  • Written by worldli about 2 years ago.

It is the most delicious dish I have ever had….I love to get it with wan tan mee – vegetarian noodles! You take one bite of the hot noodles, savor and then follow it with a bite of the cold ice kacang…absolutely heavenly!

    ice cacheung?
sweet corn, red beans, water chestnuts and black jellatin, sitting on a bed of shaved ice, and peanut ice cream…
for me this is half a main course half dessert whit ice. WTF???

This clip gives an excellent idea about that famous Penang hawker food.
    I love it.
Born and raised in Belgium, living in Hong Kong and married to a native Penang girl. So yes we go over a lot of times and my wife is my best guide.
    I’m loving the food.
Only a pitty that Penang has been replacing lots of their old Chinese mansions by highrise concrete yuck buildings… But the food still is great. We hope it stays that way.
    Cheers all.

I was born and raise in Penang, and I must say we are very proud of our food culture. However I enjoyed eating in San Francisco too, my favorite was the Sirloin tips, barely cooked and looked like it was just cut straight from a living cow. :) Yum
